Although Windows has been a thing my entire life, my first own PC ran on
DOS 5, where I also picked up my first programming experience: Batch
scripting. I then self-taught myself Q(uick)BASIC in an attempt at
enriching those (primitive) scripts.
My first formal introduction into programming I got later during my school
time, where I learned Java and basic HTML and self-taught myself JavaScript
and php together with classmates.
This thirst for programming languages continued into my university studies
where I picked up C# and tried and experimented with various other
languages for short periods of time, like rust, c(++), ActionScript, lisp, ruby,
and Haskell.
Parallel to all that I got myself a small vServer for school/university
and private projects, where I learned shell scripting.
Today almost all of my PC hardware runs some form of GNU/Linux, for
privacy and customizability reasons and because Windows became increasingly
annoying to me.
